Agile - Importing Parts and BOMs

The attached guide explains the rules for those individuals given permission to import parts into Agile, using a spreadsheet.

Permissions required: the user is given RnP Import permission which allows the import menu to be seen.

In addition, the user must have all permissions to create parts, including specific fields which are not accessible to all users:

RnP Domino Creator, RnP ERP Data Updates, RnP Modify BOM Transfer Flag

Caution:

Importing is NOT to be used as a method to avoid using the Domino Part Numbering scheme which is built into Agile when parts are created.

It can be used to:

1) Import legacy parts from another system

2) Rapidly import large BOMs using parts that already exist in Agile e.g. for a PCB assembly.

Importing is only used for creating new Part data. It is not used for modifying existing parts.
