Mapping a network drive makes accessing the files stored on our internal network quicker and easier.  It creates a persistent shortcut to the locations you need on your device, removing the need for hyperlinks or file paths to be typed manually. Below you will find a guide on how to set this up. 


Not all users are granted access to all areas of our network if you cannot access the area you are trying to map, please raise a request for access to be granted. A guide on how to do this can be found here. 


Open File Explorer


Select This PC from the options on the left





Select Computer from the tabs at the top of the window, and then left click on Map network drive.





Type in the file path of the network drive you wish to set the shortcut up for.





Click Finish.


This will now create the network drive shortcut within File Explorer as below:
