The attached guide is for those individuals who have permission to import parts, they can also load the Bill of Materials (BOM) as well. This guide explains how to do this import.
Note: a BOM change requires a revision change on a Part, so the following instructions often refer to the imported BOM being added to a Change Note as a “red line”.
For the purposes of this document:
- Parent Part = the part which is having its BOM modified
- Child Part = any part on the BOM of a Parent Part
