Sometimes people have problems connecting to the OrCAD license server when using a non-Domino PC on the VPN (also seen at PostJet).

 

If this happens it’s a DNS issue – and rather than having the SW reference the PC number, it needs to reference the IP. This IP has been reserved so will not change:

  




In order to establish a connection to the server, check that you are able to ping the server as below.

 

 

Note the top pings the server name and the bottom pings the server IP address. The top one does not work on a personal/home laptop, but does on a Domino laptop.

 


If pinging the server IP address works, try this:

 

Start – Cadence – License Client Configuation Utility.

 

 

Change License Path variable from 5280@ukbhdtl3930

 

to 5280@10.44.11.224

 

Save, etc. 


Now try to open Capture CIS 17.4 and you should see this (select the one circled in red).
