If you encounter issues where File Explorer does not respond (i.e. green bar while it attempts to load the contents of a folder), please try the following:
OPTION 1
Check Quick Access for unresponsive entries \ bindings. Delete/repair dead entries and performance should behave normal.

Right-click on Quick Access, select Options and clear the File Explorer history.
If that doesn't work, run the attached .bat file to restart file explorer
OPTION 2
Are there any Windows updates pending? Have you installed any new applications?
Can you open a Command Prompt and Run as Administrator:
At the prompt, type in sfc /scannow
Let this run and then reboot your computer when it has completed.
