How to set up Multi-Factor Authentication for your Domino Account

 

 

I. Navigate to your Microsoft Security Settings


 To proceed in this section, you must have your mobile device available in hand, and ideally be logged into your Domino computer. 

 

Click the below link and log in using your Domino Credentials. You should see the below page listing ways for you to sign in.

II. Set Up an Authenticator App

 

  1. Select the Add method button to add our first method of authentication
     


  2. From the window that appears click the drop-down menu and select your first form of Authentication. You must pick the Authenticator app option and select Add
     
     
     

 

  1. Decide on whether you would prefer to use the Microsoft Authenticator or an App of your own preference. Depending on your selection, you will be provided with a differing code on the next step.
     
    Microsoft Authenticator – Install the Microsoft Authenticator by either searching for it on the app store of your personal or work mobile device or using the following link provided by Microsoft https://aka.ms/getMicrosoftAuthenticator
    Follow the instructions provided by Microsoft to set up the Authenticator App. Please ensure you are installing the one specifically from Microsoft and not a third-party or advertised app
     
    Personal Authenticator – Select the blue text stating I want to use a different authenticator app. This can be Google Authenticator, Duo or any other major authenticator app of your preference.
     

 

d.     Once you have decided on what app to use and ensure it is open on your personal/work phone and select the Add Account option.  This may be in the form of a plus symbol in the top right corner of the screen or a similar form of prompt. 

 
Be sure to select as a Work account if asked and to approve any permissions requiring use of your camera. Your app should then be looking for a QR code with its camera.

 

e.      Select Next on the setup screen of your computer
 

 

f.      You will now be provided with a QR code to scan to add within your authenticator app. As soon as you point your phones camera add it your Domino account should be added automatically.

g.      You should now have your Domino Account present with a One-Time passcode that re-generated every 30 seconds. If you are using a personal Authenticator app this is the code, you will use for logging in to confirm your identity. Select Next

 

h.     You will now be asked to confirm the authentication method works. Depending on your app of choice you will have different experience. You will then be set up with the authenticator app.

 
1. Microsoft Authenticator – You will asked to be confirm your request and enter the number on the screen.
 
 


2. Personal Authenticator – You will be requested to Enter the 6 digit code that is generated in your app.
 

         


III. Set Authenticator App as Default

 

  1. On the Security Info page confirm that you have Authenticator App, set as your default sign-in method. If it is set to “Phone – text” or “Phone – Call” it must be changed so that it does not default to your old method. Select Change
     
     


  2. From the drop down menu select from the available options depending on your choice of authenticator app. Then select the authenticator app method you just setup and Confirm
