To clear Microsoft Teams cache on Windows, you need to locate where the cache files are stored on your device. The Teams cache location on Windows 10 (and earlier versions) differs from the location on Windows 11.


For Windows 10 and earlier versions, the Teams app cache is located at C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams.


On Windows 11, Teams cache is stored in this location: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\MicrosoftTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe


For Windows 10 and older versions

1. Close the Teams app completely by right clicking the teams icon in the system tray and selecting quit. Ensure it's not running in the background.

2. Click the Folder button at the bottom left corner of your screen to Open File Explorer.

3. Navigate to C:/users/username/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Teams.

-Note: The 'user_name' in the address above should be your PC username


4. Select and delete these three folders: Cache, Code Cache, and GPUCache

5. Relaunch Teams app.


For Windows 11

1. Close the Teams app completely by right clicking the teams icon in the system tray and selecting quit. Ensure it's not running in the background.


2. Open the Start Menu.

3. Navigate to  C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Packages\MicrosoftTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe

-Note: The 'user_name' in the address above should be your PC username


4. Next, find and open the LocalCache Folder and delete all the files inside.

5. Restart the Team s app.
